2026 Chery iCaur V27 Debuts With 1,300 km Range and 449 hp Dual-Motor AWD

Chery’s iCaur V27 launched with the all-wheel-drive drivetrain with one engine and two electric motors, featuring a 300 km CLTC range with the LFP battery pack.

iCaur is a sub-brand under the Chery Automobile, which is spelt as iCar in China. This company launched the iCar/iCaur V27 extended-range electric sport utility vehicle for the Chinese market on September 30, 2026, in two variants. These variants are 300KM 4WD Falcon 500 and 300KM 4WD Falcon 700. The former one is available with the price of 189,800 yuan (28,300 USD), and the latter with 203,800 yuan (30,400 USD). 

Both are available with an all-wheel-drive drivetrain, even though they have the same battery pack. The carmaker says that under the hood, this electrified car gets a 115 kW 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine. In addition to the ICE, this vehicle also has two electric motors; one is mounted on each axle. The combined power output of these motors is 335 kW, which translates to 449 hp. 

Officially made public details reveal the use of a Contemporary Amperex Technology Company-sourced 51.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Notably, when the battery pack is fully charged, it runs up to 300 km on EV mode in CLTC condition. The claimed combined CLTC range is 1,300 km. The company also has revealed the charging details; it supports a DC charger up to 100 kW that takes only 17 minutes for 10 to 80 per cent charging.

This electrified SUV also features vehicle-to-load with 6 kW, enabling running on external electronic devices. The manufacturer has positioned this car in the Chinese market as a mid-to-large SUV, which has five seats in a 2-3 layout. Its dimensions are also made. The company says that in terms of length, width, and height, it measures 5,055 mm, 1,976 mm, and 1,894 mm, respectively.

Its wheelbase and ground clearance measure 2,910 mm and 220 mm, respectively, as per the report’s official media release in Chinese. Two other crucial pieces of information, such as wading depth and wheel size, are made public. It can safely drive through water up to 600 mm, enhancing off-roading capabilities, and sit on 21-inch alloy wheels. At the front end, it gets a boxy SUV silhouette, a narrow front grille, and circular LED headlights.

On the sides, it gets rugged squared wheel arches, cladding, pronounced roof rails, and large double-toned alloy wheels. At the rear, it features twin square LED taillamps, a roof-integrated spoiler, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. An Hesai LiDAR is mounted on the roof; it is part of the Falcon 500/700 system. The top-end variant features advanced end-to-end intelligent driving.

The front and rear suspensions are MacPherson struts and H-arms multi-link, respectively, with the MRC (Magnetorheological Control). The suspension setup ensures a comfortable driving experience for all conditions. The approach and departure angle is 24.5°. Braking details are also officially confirmed: ventilated discs are present on the front wheels, and solid ones are on the rear. 

Get an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster under the steering wheel and a 15.4-inch 2.5K touchscreen infotainment system at the dashboard’s centre. They are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chipset, which has 30 TOPS of computing power. The main screen also features four-zone voice recognition and wireless smartphone connectivity for Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, and CarLink.

Other feature highlights are zero-gravity seats with the heating, ventilation, and massage functions to ensure comfortable seating. To enhance cabin premiumness, it is also equipped with the “Sky Island” panoramic dual sunroof to make the cabin spacious and airy. Its India launch may also happen in the Indian market, because Chery already has partnered with the JSW Group.
