The Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 is a recently launched mid-size electric SUV for the Chinese market. The company that launched the model in China is FAW-Volkswagen. The carmaker has officially confirmed that they have started the delivery for this car from October 2, 2026. 

As the delivery has officially begun, soon all the drivers who have booked a unit will get it shortly. The FAW-Volkswagen says that they will start delivering all variants. On October 2, 2026, only those drivers who booked the model earliest got delivery.

Four variants, and affordable starting price.

The Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 goes on sale in four variants: 540 Pro, 660 Pro, 660 Max, and 660 Ultra. FAW-Volkswagen announced the price for the launch; the cost varies depending on the model. We have shared the pricing below.

  • 660 Pro: 139,900 yuan (20,865 USD)
  • 660 Max: 149,900 yuan (22,260 USD)
  • 660 Ultra: 166,900 yuan (24,895 USD)

Two battery pack options and decent DC charging speed.

On the launch day, the FAW-Volkswagen officially confirmed the Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 gets permanent magnet synchronous. The same is mounted on the rear axle that is mated with a single-speed automatic transmission. By unveiling the powertrain, they also said that its PMSM delivers 170 kW and 345 Nm. 

Other details that are officially confirmed by the manufacturer are the two LFP battery packs, 59.9 kWh and 77.5 kWh. The Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 with the standard battery pack runs up to 540 km, and the larger one gives a range of 660 km. These are claimed figures on the CLTC condition. 

The carmaker also has revealed the acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h acceleration timing and top speed for both battery pack variants. These details are shared inside the table below.

For clarity, the last three variants that are equipped with the larger battery pack take 0.2 second more time for 0 to 100 kmph acceleration; these variants are 6 kmph faster than the base one. 

The FAW-Volkswagen has also unveiled the model is built on a 400-volt architecture that enables fast DC charging with a maximum 120 kW output. The official unveiling confirms that it takes up to 22 and 24 minutes to charge the standard and larger battery packs, respectively, for 30 to 80% charging.

At the launch event, the FAW-Volkswagen revealed the length, width, and height of the Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 are 4,811 mm, 1,879 mm, and 1,648 mm, respectively. Other figures also have been officially disclosed. Its wheelbase is 2,836 mm, the front track is 1,595 mm, and the rear track is 1,589 mm.

The front overhang is 896 mm, and the rear is 1,079 mm. Like two battery packs, two wheel-size options are available. The 19-inch unit is available for the base and 20-inch and top trim. Even with the length being more than 4.8 meters, it has a seating capacity of 5 people in a traditional configuration. 

A five-seater car with this much length means a spacious cabin with enhanced second-row passenger comfort. The company says behind the second row, the cargo capacity is 572 liters, which helps with carrying big luggage conventionally.

Smart interior features and high-tech technology.

Launching the Volkswagen ID. Aura T6, FAW-Volkswagen, has revealed that its cabin has a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The former one is placed at the dashboard’s center, and the latter is behind the steering wheel; these details are clearly visible on the officially released interior images.

Other features that they disclosed for this VW mid-size electric SUV are a 25.8-inch AR head-up display that projects crucial driving data on the windshield. The carmaker has also revealed that the entire cockpit runs on a 4 nm smart cockpit chip that has 20 TOPS of computing power. 

Even the FAW-Volkswagen has introduced features that enhance comfort and convenience, such as heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats. The driver seat is also 12-way electrically adjustable. Other highlights from the list of its features are a panoramic sunroof with physical sunblinds and wireless phone charging.
