Deepal, a sub-brand of Changan Automobile, has officially unveiled the mid-size SUV Deepal S07 PHEV at the Auto Athina 2026 in Greece. The brand makes intelligent and technology-focused designs with the Symbiotic Aesthetics. The recently unveiled model comes with a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. With its unveiling, many details regarding this vehicle have emerged. Let’s have a closer look.
Exterior design and dimension.
Outside, it has Slim LED headlights, a smooth and closed-off front, and a modern design at the front end, giving the futuristic touch with an aerodynamic body for enhancing energy efficiency. On the side, it has a sleek SUV profile, semi-hidden black door handles, large windows, and a sloping roofline, giving it the proportion of a mid-size SUV.
Its rear has slim rear lights on the tailgate, creating a wide stance, a clean tailgate design, and a modern and streamlined look, giving it a unique design. The carmaker says that its length, width, and height are 4,750 mm, 1,930 mm, and 1,625 mm, respectively, with the wheelbase of 2,900 mm.
Interior spaces, and features.
A total of 5 seats are available inside the cabin in 2-3 layouts. Thanks to the wheelbase of 2.9 meters, all occupants get ample legroom to sit comfortably in the second even for long-distance travel. The Deepal has also unveiled the boot space, which is 445 liters, that can easily accommodate multiple big pieces of luggage.
The seats in the second row come with 60:40 folding features that further enhance practicality for carrying luggage. As per the carmaker, it has a 1.92-square-meter panoramic sunroof and a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard. Instead of an instrument cluster, it has AR-HUD that projects driving data on the windshield.
Its centrally mounted screen supports wireless connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and it is equipped with the 14-speaker premium sound system, ensuring an immersive audio experience inside the cabin. Its infotainment system supports AI voice assistant, 5G connectivity, and over-the-air (OTA) updates for connected car technology.
Comfort and convenience features.
The dashboard’s center console gets a wireless phone charging pad that makes practicality of charging the phone. Two-zone climate control features are available that let the co-passenger and driver set the different temperatures. The company confirms that its front seats have both heating and ventilation features; they ensure better comfort for all.
The front seats are also electronically adjustable, and the driver seat comes with a memory function. Even if it features 4-step lumber support that further enhances long-distance travel comfort. The multiple-color ambient lighting and panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade inside the cabin further enhance the cabin’s premiumness.
The digital key gesture control, driver-monitoring system, rear climate controls, USB-A and USB-C ports, and V2L are the features that further enhance practicality. Apart from these, the carmaker also has provided other features such as automatic rain-sensing wipers, power-folding ORVMs, heated ORVMs, and one-touch power windows that enhance convenience.
Engine and two electric motors available.
The Deepal S07 PHEV, as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, features a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol-powered internal combustion engine that delivers 70 kW. There’s also a permanent magnet synchronous motor but on the front axle. The combined power output is 190 kW, contributing to 0 to 100 kmph acceleration in 7.9 seconds.
The company says that it reaches the maximum speed of 185 kmph. Beneath the floor, it gets an 18.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, giving the 100 km range under WLTP conditions. Notably, it supports a DC charger up to 55 kW that takes 15 minutes for 30 to 80 percent charging. The combined range is 1,000 km with CO₂ emissions of 49 g/km.
